4th

I hope you all had a lovely Fourth of July.
Sorry for the delay in posting this my lovelies~
sparklers, celebrate, fireworks, fourth of july, america, murica,

Have the elder races halted?
Do they droop and end their lesson, wearied, over there beyond the seas?
We take up the task eternal, and the burden, and the lesson, Pioneers! O' pioneers!

Over the holiday break,
I visited my hometown and was delighted to find
they opened up a micro-roastery.

Mad Goat Coffee was a treat.
It's always a warming feeling seeing your hometown
grow in many new ways.
This discovery only
added to the joy of a hometown visit~

Cleaning Nostalgia

lights, string lights, home sweet home, cross stitch
As I prepare the house for it's blog premiere,
I discover a phenomenon I dubbed 'cleaning nostalgia'.

The haphazard way a picture frame hangs,
always slightly off.
The wine stain from a night of tipsy hysterical laughter with friends,
hidden behind an autumn only to be forgotten until now.

The collected dust hidden behind a knick-knack
that got forgotten in the clutter of organization.

I always found dust to be oddly romantic.
It gathers with the passage of time,
and you can clearly see
when things have been disturbed from their dusty rest.

It's all too easy to get wrapped up
in thoughts of passing time,
and the great memories the past holds~
